New Scale

I'd been wanting a new scale for a while. Ours was getting pretty beat up. I looked at several different scales and decided which one I wanted a few weeks ago, but I didn't actually get it until today.

According to the new scale, I weigh 10 pounds more than I do according to the old scale. There was a time when this would bother me like crazy, and it would upset me and I'd give up on losing weight. But I know better now. Just because the new scale says I weigh more does not erase the fact that I have lost a significant amount of weight, and that I can keep up the weight loss until I reach my goal. Different scales often say different things anyway - it's not healthy to focus too much on what the scale says.

The scale that I got today has a weight tracking feature on it so you can easily track your weightloss. Or, in my dad's case, weight GAIN, as he wants to put ON a couple pounds of muscle. The scale that I got can have up to four users set; you choose your user number then set your initial starting weight (which for the first time you use the scale also serves as your current weight) and then you enter your goal weight. Then you can weigh in and see your current weight against your starting and goal weights. While I do not put too much focus on what the scale says anyway, I do find this a very nice feature and know it is something that will be very useful for me.

Ultimately for me it is not what the scale says that matters, it's what I see when I look in the mirror and how I feel about myself. I have a target clothing size I am shooting for, and my goal weight is only my best guess (based on what I think I remember weighing when I was previously at my now target size lol) as to what approximate weight will put me back in my favorite jeans, and my new motivation outfit. My goal weight is just serving as a ballpark figure in the grand scheme of things. But I'm still happy to have a new scale. Even though what it says is not the most important factor, it still plays a significant role in my efforts and it's good to have a nice scale to help me track my progress.
